As in the past several years, naturaprint was proud to print the World AIDS Campaign posters back in the summer for distribution worldwide in the fall, in time for World AIDS Day. We are also proud of the messaggio studios IT team who has kept the World AIDS Campaign web sites running smoothly despite the usual high loads on the days leading up to and just after 1 December.

But this year, we were also privileged to participate in a local initiative spearheaded by UNAIDS. Indeed, with the collaboration of Geneva local authorities and Geneva's international Cointrin airport, mondofragilis group companies installed large red ribbons to further attract attention to the ongoing fight against HIV and AIDS. The ribbons were clearly visible next to major Geneva monuments, in the airport's main hall and on the facade of the UNAIDS building. The smallest ribbons were 3 meters with the largest being 9 meters.

One can wonder if there is much use to such displays. Should available money be used for projects alone? We firmly believe that public awareness is a key component of most development issues. Citizen and policy support is driven by both general interest and media coverage. Actions such as these help to keep the interest alive during a time where attention to HIV and AIDS is being distracted by other issues at a time when the pandemic needs as much attention as it did five, ten or twenty years ago.
