mondofragilis group president Giray, has just returned from a unique two-day closed conference dealing with global programme partnerships that was held at Chateau Bossey outside Geneva.

mondofragilis group is pleased to be part of the formative, pre-launch, stages of the World Urban Campaign, a global campaign in co-ordination with UN-habitat. Last week mondofragilis group president, Giray, was part of the Working Group who met for two days in Paris. Indeed, he led one of the brainstorming sub-groups as they worked to draft the goals, strategy and principals of this significant campaign.

Tuesday 17th November marks the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Basel Convention on the transboundary movement of hazardous wastes and their disposal. With 172 parties across the world, the convention is an almost universal environmental agreement. The celebration will bring together experts to reflect upon the successes of the convention thus far and discuss visions for a cleaner environment. The event will take place in Basel, Switzerland the city that gave its name to the Convention on the occasion of its adoption in 1989.

Having just returned from the first steering committee meeting of the World Urban Campaign held in Barcelona this past week, I feel invigorated to see how partners can come together in a spirit of cooperation with the sole intent of making good on their commitment to a better urban future.

With just one month left before the start of BioVision, mondofragilis group is getting ready to make the 2009 edition of the World Life Sciences Forum a success. In the office, the studio, the printing press, the troops have been mobilised!

This past 2nd and 9th December 2008, the first episode of the television series Cancer is... was launched in Geneva, Switzerland and Atlanta, USA. The series reveals the 'world of cancer' detailing what is going on behind the scenes in research laboratories, hospitals, UN organizations and civil society. Links to the first episode are currently online at cancerfilm.tv, the film's website.

To stop breast cancer, women need to know how. mondofragilis network is pleased to help convey the message. The 30-second PSA, produced for Europa Donna, points women in the right direction for advice about prevention and cure. The PSA is already being aired on CNN Europe, Euronews, TF1, RTL 2, TV5 Monde, France 24, and many other European channels.

Princess Mathilde, special representative for UNAIDS and UNICEF was kind enough to participate in the filming of a public service announcement that is being shown in 1500 cinemas in Mexico.

Once again, we are extremely proud to have been selected by the World AIDS Campaign to design, print and fulfill materials for the 2008 World AIDS Campaign.

We could not be prouder.
