Convergence theories for a better tomorrow
Running is a noble sport but as with all other sports, they reinforce divergence pushing athletes to distance themselves more and more from the lowest competitor.
What if the various global economic models were wrong or, at least, ill adapted to a multi-billion person planet? What if our social systems were flawed and dangerously disparate? What if people were disingenuous towards their fellow humans caring only about their own micro-unit family with total disregard for community, county or country? If all these were true, would we want to fix them? No matter how pretentious a new social, economic or political theory may sound, it's worth trying, just in case it's ultimately the right one.
Background
People and their leaders basically act the same way. All of them act inwardly. Maslow's pyramid is , in fact, all inward as well. Whether you are seeking food, shelter, family or self-esteem, it's all about you. Countries are similar, they act in their self interest. With the business community it's even worse. They act in their self-interest and seek unlimited growth.
Whether you act for your own self-interest or for growth the result is identical, you seek to develop 'away' from your peer. I call this divergence. I call our species the species of divergence. Unlike ants who work collectively, we work for ourselves. Yes, this applies to communism as well. Communism, in its practical manifestation, may seek collective parity but it does so at the expense of neighbouring communities. One need only look to cold war era neighbours the Soviet Union and China. Both had similar belief systems, neither sought rapprochement.
Hence my quest for a nobler system, one that promotes convergence.
