Podcast and web TV production
A podcast is basically the same as a radio programme or a television show or even a film that is packaged specifically for the Internet and distributed over the Internet by syndicated download, through Web feeds, to portable media players and personal computers.
Though the same content may also be made available by direct download or streaming, a podcast is distinguished from most other digital media formats by its ability to be syndicated, subscribed to, and downloaded automatically when new content is added. Producing a programme for podcast only is less expensive than producing an actual television programme because of format and standards. The image on a podcast is far ‘smaller’ than for television (especially if one considers newer high definition standards being adopted by the television industry). The cameras used are less sophisticated. The decor, if there is one, can be less intricate.
Podcasts are a great means of creating interest in one's organisation or cause and to keep that interest alive. Users of podcasts are fiercely loyal inasmuch as keeping the podcast device updated with the latest episode is seamless and intuitive. messaggio studios owns and operates its own podcast studio facility with five cameras, a green room and all other necessary equipment to produce a state of the art programme. This said, podcasts are not always filmed in a studio. Podcasts can consist of any type of audio or video content including existing or new film or TV footage.

The public interest sector has progressively embraced the internet. Podcasts are clearly the most multi-dimensional tool available. They can be audio only or video ready for either computer or mobile phone or iPod viewing. As people increasingly watch video on the move, information needs to be mobile-ready. We can offer you the full range of podcast services from pre-production to hosting and delivery. |

Podcasts? What are they? Are they podcasts when they play on an iPod? Are they podcasts when they are available on iTunes? Are they simply webcasts with ‘web’ substituted by ‘pod’? What we can say is that we put our first short films online in 2000. Very early on we realised the value and impact that a series could have online. Back then the bandwidth was very low so few people could watch them and compression was a nightmare. And yet, the response was overwhelming. The series was an edutainment venture that also aired on Disney/SuperRTL. It consisted of 30, 90-second episodes both in English and in German. Clearly, we have come a long way since and our portfolio contains examples of more recent work but this example illustrates our ongoing commitment to explore the latest technologies and put them at the service of the public interest community.
The company was the result of a merger between the mondofragilis network studios and those of natura print in 2005. It brought together two creative teams with highly complementary skills. Together, they are able to deliver output that is either local in flavour or global in scope. The team is spread across timezones allowing it to deliver content almost 24/7.
